Jo’s Library Quilt & I were cordially invited to present to Rose Park Patchwork Quilters by new friend Rebecca “Becci” Webb who I met through Utah Library Association Conference 5/11-13/11. What great evening! Talented, fun, interesting ladies! Had my FIRST quilting lesson too. Yvonne, who made the majority of Jo’s Library Quilt & is our Coalville Librarian, said way back I’m going to get “hooked” into quilting after all this. Well, I can feel it coming! During my presentation, not sure which “comedy routine” they enjoyed the most. Being quilters it was probably the one about me sending Author/Quilter EXTRAORDINAIRE, Jennifer Chiaverini, who’s book inspired my project, a piece of fabric bought at a non-fabric store that looked like a liner for burlap sack! Mind you, Jennifer also has a fabric line! Sorry, I didn't know! Oh my goodness! Fortunately she visited Utah and I was able to replace that fabric with a “real” piece in person!Quilters did a “show & tell” of their projects! Awesome! Gave me a lesson on a wall hanging and we ate the treats! My real purpose for driving to the event! Thanks Becci and ALL members of Rose Park Patchworks Quilters. Your support and generous donations for the Coalville Library are GREATLY appreciated! They will definitely help “accessorize” our NEW library! Hope to see you again soon! Maybe for my next lesson?
Me (Jo Garver) and Becci Webb. Great lady that invited me to her Rose Park Patchwork Quilter group (and brought the GREAT food!). Thanks a BUNCH Becci!
After the presentation and quilting evening, they have "Show & Tell." Look at this beauty!
Another gorgeous "Show & Tell" completed guilt. Beautiful colors and patterns. Unreal!
The Guild meets monthly at the Day-Riverside Library in Salt Lake City, UT. This is a branch of Salt Lake City Libraries.
What you see coming in the entry way; the back patio area with scuplture. Place to sit and read outside. Nice!!!
Inside looking out to the entry area. Great windows; great lighting!
Their children's area! Again, great lighting; roomy. Invites tikes to read!
This is the current children's area at our Coalville Library. This is ONE of the reasons I started Jo's Library Quilt project...TO ENHANCE THE CHILDREN'S AREA...WE NEEDED MORE ROOM TO DO THAT...WE NEEDED MORE ROOM...WE NEEDED A BUILDING OF OUR OWN!!! Now we're getting one and Jo's Library Quilt Project is going to help accessorize it!!!
