NEWSFLASH…Goals Are Being Met! Jo’s Library Quilt was launched in February, 2010. Two months later, Summit County, where we reside, began discussions at a Public Hearing in Coalville regarding a location for a NEW library/health department. And I announced Jo’s Library Quilt fundraiser to the Public. I told them to “THINK BIG!!! DREAM BIG!!! I have from the start.” Well…after waiting, hoping, a lot of planning and a year later, they (which entails A BUNCH!) reached their GOAL! We’re getting a NEW library…a LIBRARY of our OWN and we’re VERY excited! Twice the size of our existing “leased” room! Renovation has begun on an historical county building which was previously our medical center. This will be a combination library/health department with an anticipated completion date of September 2011!!! Great news for EVERYONE involved!!!!
And Jo’s Library Quilt project CONTINUES to support the LIBRARY and with this renovation there will be a need for furnishings and this is the FUN PART! All DONATIONS raised by Jo’s Library Quilt project will be used to “ACCESSORIZE”…enhance the children’s area, purchase more books, shelving, more computers, reading systems…whatever the Coalville Library needs the most at time of closure…our choice…very cool!!!So this is the ONE time, the ONE project, the ONE final year for Jo’s Library Quilt to do its part for the community and the library!!! We have some SPECIAL events planned over the next couple of months to get MORE exposure and to help meet those “THINK BIG” donation GOALS prior to the….
